Pentagon was formed to provide clients with a fresh approach to the management and delivery of change to business processes and underlying technology. The company brings together expert consultants, analysts, subject matter experts and practitioners who offer expertise within business operations and the underlying technology solutions. Clients are supported by our extensive knowledge pool, delivery framework and methodologies; adding significant benefits to projects of differing scales and complexities.
Pentagon’s main differentiator is extensive experience with the actual implementation of numerous key solutions, combined with the ability to engage with clients on the introduction of change, in the most efficient and appropriate way.
Directors and Management Team
Matthew Peacock – Director
An accountant by profession, Matthew managed a number of companies throughout the UK before becoming Managing Director of a leading software company in London, in 1998, providing a back office solution to the Investment management community.
He then became the Managing Director of a consultancy company in 2001, before founding Pentagon Consulting with David Veal in 2004. Matthew fully understands the nature of client requirements for consultancy services and has structured the company in a way best suited to accommodate the variable nature of such needs in the financial services arena.
David Veal – Director
David Veal offers over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry working in retail and investment banking before becoming the assistant director for operations at Rothschild Asset Management for over a decade.
David is the Principal Consultant for Pentagon and was joint founder of the company in 2004, following seven years as a Professional Services Director of a London based Consultancy Company. David has directly managed numerous projects for clients in the U.K., Mainland Europe and the U.S. and is Pentagon’s primary client advisor in these regions; providing advice and expertise across multiple business practices within the financial services space, focusing on middle office evolution and services.
Paul Harknett – Management Team and Practice Lead
Prior to joining Pentagon, Paul supported a number of key Pentagon engagements, including project managing major elements of IT and business deliverables from an investment bank and major securities services provider. Paul offers significant experience from both a business and technical perspective; with detailed industry knowledge associated with transaction processing, messaging, banking, payments and ecommerce - spanning eighteen years within the financial services marketplace.
He has an excellent background in driving operational, business and technical changes with extensive experience in banking, investment management and fund/securities services organisations. Paul has supported the delivery of high profile projects and programmes utilising structured methodologies, including Prince 2, ITIL, RAD, SSADM, and Agile.
Carole Wiles – Management Team - Client Relationship Manager (UK, Europe and USA)
Carole offers a significant understanding of operations within the buy-side industry having previously worked within the middle/back office in various roles, including coordinating business and IT projects, systems upgrades, modifications and implementations at organisations such as Deutsche Asset Management.
Prior to joining Pentagon in 2009, Carole worked for Cap Gemini Ernst & Young as a business analyst, working with a range of clients both on and offshore.
Carole now supports Pentagon’s strategic growth and marketing, focusing on client management and communications along with strategic business development throughout the next twelve months, considering Pentagon’s global growth.
Simon Collier – General Manager - Pentagon Consulting (HK) Limited
With over twenty-five years of experience in the securities industry, Mr. Collier is focused on operations and technology consulting in the securities services, fund administration and wealth management industries, working on assignment through the US, Europe and Asia.
Historically, Mr. Collier held senior management positions at the securities services divisions of three global banks: HSBC; Chase Manhattan Bank; and, Citibank, with responsibility for functions such as global product development, securities and fund operations and securities business management. While based in London and subsequently New York, his clients have included globally recognized insurance companies, fund management companies, banks, pensions and government agencies.
Mr. Collier holds joint UK/US citizenship and is located in Hong Kong, where he is the general manager supporting the growth of Pentagon’s business within the Asia region.
