Global Asset Manager – Outsourcing Transition Support

Assignment Summary

Pentagon were engaged to project manage the technical element of an Asset Manager migration to an outsource service provider. This included the transition of client/portfolio data as well as new mechanisms for the delivery of on-going transaction information, post transition.

Approach

Pentagon’s Project Manager supported by the client’s technical and business personnel assigned to the project, coordinated intricate testing cycles to prove the delivery of information from current sources to the new service provider platforms. This incorporated automated reconciliation activities to qualify the quality of records being maintained on the internal systems utilised by the service provider.

Challenges

This project encompassed many challenges due to the complex nature of the instruments held within the client’s portfolios and how such positions were to be valued and accounted for in the new environment. New processes and practices needed to be established to support on-going BAU activities, after the transition date.

Outcome

The client transition occurred on the agreed project date, with a successful hand-over of controls and data management for back office functions.
